In 1991 Bentley introduced a spectacular 2-door coupé at the Geneva Motor show. The car was very well received and many orders were noted. Development of the model continued and the initial power of 328 bhp was soon upgraded to 385 bhp. In 1997 the 4 inch shorter Continental T was launched, from the outset fitted with the powerful 400 bhp engine that in 1998 even was uprated to 420 bhp. When in 1999 the Continental R Mulliner was introduced, the car combined the sporty ‘wide body’ of the Continental T with the 4-passenger interior of the Continental R. It featured the wide wheel arches, sports sills, sports bumpers with wire mesh inserts, 18 inch five-spoke alloys, and the 420 bhp engine of the Continental T. Simultaneously it sported the elegant length and spacious luxury of the Continental R. The top speed became 270 km/h, and 100 km/h could be reached in just over 5 seconds. Sales of the standard Continental R diminished almost completely in favour of the impressive Continental R Mulliner.

The Bentley Continental R Mulliner on offer is from model year 2002, the second last model year. Only eleven LHD examples were built in that year, resulting in a very rare and desirable car. These models are very sought after and are difficult to find.

The car is finished in stylish Black Emerald paint and is fitted with full flared wheel arches, Continental T bumpers and 340 mm front brake discs. In recent years the very light classic Barley hide colour has been upgraded to a sporty colour scheme, which is a perfect match with the paint colour of this modern sports car. The Saddle seats and underdash are complemented by tasteful Spruce secondary hide on the top roll and several interior panels. All head rests are embroidered with nice Bentley wings. The chrome wheels have partly been painted in the body colour.

The car was ordered with a few exclusive extra features. The woodwork consists of Burr walnut veneer that also has been applied to the wrap-over waistrails and the gear knob. All gauges and dials are surrounded by chrome bezels. The doors are fitted with elegant wood panels to special order, an expensive feature that is rarely seen in this model. Two umbrellas can be attached to the boot lid, and the acceleration and brake pedals are sporty drilled Bentley pedals.

When new the car was taken delivery by an American lawyer. Some years ago the car was shipped to the Netherlands, with the first Dutch registration dating from May 2018. The current mileage is 135580km. The car is in very good technical condition throughout. A service and a few small repairs will be completed on delivery without extra cost.
