In 2005 Bentley authorised Peter Hepworth to redesign the piston and ring assemblies for the early V8 engines. This involved minor amendments to some of the measurements, material and manufacturing processes. Please be aware that the Workshop Manual TSD2476 specifies a closed ring gap of 0.015" - 0.020". The redesigned top rings have a specified gap of 0.01574" - 0.02559" and the oil control rings UE42268 of 0.0118" - 0.02165.
